Has Powder Mountain ever had plans to be a private resort?

The Brim trail is just one of many new trails made open to the public at Summit Powder Mountain.

From the beginning, we have stated that the mountain will never be privatized. The strongest indication is that the main access roads to all areas of the resort are public state and county roads.

We’ve always listened to, and honored, the locals’ expressed desire to preserve the unique character of the mountain by not overcrowding it, continuing to provide side-country experiences, preserving its adventurous spirit and keeping it affordable. Our lift tickets and season passes are significantly less expensive than all our competitors, available for public purchase, and are only sold in limited quantity to preserve the unspoiled, unique and adventurous ski experience that Powder Mountain is known for.
